Worldwide infectious diseases claim more than 17 million deaths every year, with the most frequent causes of death being sepsis/SIRS, tuberculosis and HIV. In the US alone more than 700.000 patients per year fall ill with sepsis/SIRS, about 200.000 of them die from the condition. Not to mention the death toll by those diseases in the developing world.
With development of the suPARnostic® marker ViroGates has succeeded in taking an important step towards global health monitoring. suPARnostic® is a prognostic tool which allows early detection of a critical disease state in the body - with such knowledge life-saving intervention could be initiated earlier and monitored for success.
ViroGates focus is to make the suPARnostic® parameter available in various test formats, suitable for the different areas of healthcare management.
