The abstract “suPAR as a standard prognostic test in the Acute Medical Unit at Hvidovre Hospital”was selected for an oral presentation, and won 1. prize at DEMC7 in Copenhagen, the biggest Emergency Medicine Conference in northern Europe, on November 25.
Line Jee Hartmann Rasmussen from Hvidovre Hospital presented her data on 17.312 acute medical patients measured with suPAR, to verify the prognostic value of suPAR with regard to readmission and survival.
The conclusion is, that high suPAR was associated with
– Increased number and severity of comorbidities
– Longer admission time
– High readmission rate– High mortality rate
suPAR remained an independent predictor after adjustment for age, sex, Charlson score, and CRP.
